The Sudden Valley Residential Home Project stands as a testament to Hometec's expertise in transforming challenges into triumphs. Our journey began upon the discovery of extensive mold infestation in the attic, a hidden menace lurking above the daily lives of its inhabitants. The root of this issue traced back to a seemingly innocuous bathroom fan that, instead of venting moisture outside, terminated within the attic. This misdirection of moisture, coupled with the habitual warmth from showers, found its way into the attic, creating an unintended greenhouse effect.

Compounding the problem, we uncovered that the attic's soffit vents were blocked, stifling any chance for air circulation. This lack of airflow and fluidity transformed the attic into a conducive condition causing extensive condensation and mold growth.

Using digital diagnostic tools we received moisture meter readings that were off the charts. The moisture content was above 40% in the OSB roof sheathing. The structural integrity of the OSB sheathing can be compromised due to moisture damage of this scale.

Addressing this challenge head-on, the Hometec team embarked on a comprehensive solution to not only eradicate the mold but also to rectify the underlying issues that allowed it to thrive. Our approach redefined the home's ventilation strategy, ensuring that moisture was directed outside, and reinstating the attic's ability to breathe freely. This project underscored our commitment to creating healthy, sustainable living environments, turning a hidden hazard into a toxic environment. Through innovative problem-solving and a dedication to excellence, the Sudden Valley Residential Home was rejuvenated, safeguarding its residents and securing the home's structural integrity for the future.
